Off-grid Tally
This webpage will indicate when the off-grid tally has been met. Please note that:
- The below tally may have increased since this page was last updated.
- The tally can change significantly and quickly, regardless of how often this page is updated.
- The Clean Energy Regulator only becomes aware of off-grid installations once certificates have been created in the REC Registry.
- The Clean Energy Regulator must assess applications for the off-grid multiplier based on the date certificates are created, i.e first come, first served. This means that the off-grid multiplier is awarded based on the date certificates are created in REC Registry, not the date the system is installed.
- The Clean Energy Regulator cannot provide advice about when the off-grid tally will be met and you should take this into consideration when you are purchasing a system.

About the tally
The legislation includes provisions to increase the kilowatt (kW) capacity limit for which the Solar Credits multiplier applies in relation to off-grid small-scale solar panel, wind and hydro installations up to the first 20 kW of a system capacity subject to an annual cap in the total number of certificates.
The annual caps for off-grid small-scale system STCs and LGCs are as follows:
| Item |
Period of small generation unit installation |
Number |
| 1 |
1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011 |
250,000 |
| 2 |
