Annual energy acquisition statement and renewable energy shortfall statement 16 May 2012: Under Section 44 (1) and 46 (1) of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 (the Act) liable entities who acquired electricity under a relevant acquisition during a year must lodge an annual energy acquisition statement or renewable energy shortfall statement for each compliance year on or before 14 February in the following year or any later day allowed by the Regulator.

If a liable entity did not lodge an AEAS (due 14 February) before 1 April and the liable entity did not have a liability in the previous year or was only liable for part of the previous year, the liable entity may apply for required surrender amounts for quarters 1 – 3.
