Compliance activities

The Clean Energy Regulator regularly conducts a range of compliance activities to ensure compliance with the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 by all participating parties.

Compliance activities for the 2011-12 financial year

The below table shows the compliance activities conducted by the Clean Energy Regulator on a monthly basis. 

Site visits include physical visits to installation sites and power stations, but also include physical checks of sites where installations are viewed from the street to confirm that an installation has occurred.

Pre-validation checks include phone verification, physical inspections and the use of other technology.

Outreach visits are visits to stakeholders that are not in response to a specific compliance issue and can be instigated either by the Clean Energy Regulator as a request from the stakeholder.

Warrants executed refers to the execution of monitoring warrants under s125 of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000

Compliance visits refers to visits to stakeholders in relation to specific compliance issues.

* Suspension of an agent registration
The Clean Energy Regulator can suspend the registration of an agent for a specified period up to 12 months under s30A (1) & (2) of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000.
